The act of painting absorbs me, from the physicality of applying paint to a canvas, to the endless discovery of mixing colors. Working mainly with acrylics and oils, I see my paintings as a meditation on the world, an attempt to understand its form and way of being, whether it is a curl of water, the curve of a hand, or the way light shines through glass. This process consists of a series of choices, from what aspects to include or ignore, to what can be exaggerated or minimized, both in terms of color and form. My paintings are an ever-evolving conversation between myself, the canvas, the paint, and the world around me.
